Today REI Co-op’s board of directors named Eric Artz as president and CEO, effective immediately. He is the eighth person to serve as CEO in the co-op’s 81-year history, having served as interim CEO since February 2019.

REI Co-op published its annual stewardship report today, announcing record 2018 financial results and significant progress toward making a positive impact on the outdoor community.  In 2018, REI made a record $2.78 billion, grew 6 percent and added more than 1 million new members, bringing the co-op’s total membership to more than 18 million.

REI Co-op officially opens its new location along the banks of the Chicago River on April 5. REI Lincoln Park was previously located at 1446 North Halsted Street, but has moved to a new 40,000 square-foot space on West Eastman Street. REI Co-op officially opens new location in Midtown Mall in Anchorage on March 22

REI Co-op will officially open its new location in Anchorage on March 22 at the Midtown Mall. The new 50,000 square-foot space offers one of the largest product assortments of any REI location, carrying everything from roof racks to skis to camping and climbing gear. REI Anchorage also offers expansive gear rentals and direct access to the Seward Highway for outdoor adventurers on their way to Denali National Park and the Kenai Peninsula.
